In February 2014, British Council, in partnership with Sozo World Cinema, brought together a two day screening of British film in Lahore. The aim was to engage in the ongoing dialogue around cinema and add to it by showcasing the diversity of British Cinema.
The programme included films for children, shorts, animation, documentaries as well as feature films. Various co-curated packages were presented, including collaborations with FILMCLUB and the Scottish Documentary Institute. Other screenings included, Kim Longinotto’s ‘Salma’ as well as ‘Quartet’ and ‘Attack the Block’ in feature films.
In addition to the showcasing of films, talks by Professor Noemie Medelle, Director of the Scottish Documentary Institute were organized for audiences in Lahore, students at the National College of Art, Rawalpindi, and SZABIST, Karachi.
