When will I get my IELTS results?
You won’t have to wait long for your IELTS test results, which can be previewed online 13 calendar days after the test for paper-based and 3 - 5 calendar days after a IELTS on a computer test on the online registration system. IELTS Results remain online for 28 days but should not be used as an official confirmation of your performance.
When will I get a physical copy of my result?
The Test Report Form (TRF), a paper copy of your IELTS test score, will be dispatched via courier 13 calendar days after the test for a paper-based and 3 - 5 calendar days for IELTS on a computer test. Please allow at least 7 working days for the delivery (in case of a failed delivery we will contact you for correction/confirmation of address and resend the TRF within these 7 working days)
IELTS results will not be disclosed over the phone or through email.

How can the institutions I am applying to receive my Test Report Form?
We will send your Test Report Form directly to the institutions you’re applying to. Institutions need original copies of your Test Report Form (TRF). Photocopies are not accepted.
We can send up to five additional copies of your TRF directly to institutions you are applying to (universities, immigration officers, etc). If you would like us to do this, please include the relevant addresses when you book your test.
Please give the full postal address of the institution. Without the complete address we are not able to check whether the institution has access to the IELTS Test Report Form Verification Service that allows it to view your results after we have submitted them electronically. In case they do not access this service, we will send your TRF by post.
Universities / Institutions that have subscribed to the electronic download of scores (STED RO) will be sent results electronically. The university and its address details on ATRF Forms need to match exactly as mentioned on the downloadable STED RO list. Please check the downloads section at the bottom of this page to view the STED RO list of the universities that accept IELTS scores electronically.
Can I get additional copies of my IELTS results?
Additional Test Result Forms (TRFs) are available to any institution upon request. You have to pay a fee mentioned as in IELTS Pricing policy document available in the download section below, and your results are only available for up to two years after the date of registration. If a courier service is needed this may also incur additional costs.
You will need to provide the institution’s address and fill in the Application for Additional Test Report Form. We then send the TRF directly to the institution.
An additional Test Report Form takes around 10 days to be processed.
In addition to this, Candidates may request up to two additional TRFs under conditions such as damage or loss. No reason or evidence for loss or damage needs to be submitted by the candidate. Submissions for additional TRFs must be made in writing to the center with copy of ID document used on test day and proof of payment of relevant fees. What does my IELTS score mean?
You will be awarded an IELTS band score from 0-9 for each test section, which reflects your proficiency in English.
Your TRF shows a score for each of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking), as well as an overall band score. You can score whole band scores (for example 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half band scores (e.g. 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) in each section of the test.
How to get your IELTS test re-marked?
If you did not receive the score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to request this at the test centre where you sat the test.

You can Pay for your EOR in the following ways:
- As a most economical way, you can pay by interbank transfer (IBFT) through Online banking or ATM. Find out the payment process details here.
- You can pay by bank draft (made payable to ‘British Council Pakistan’). Bank Drafts should be sent to our office locations
- You can deposit cash at your local Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) / Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB). Use our bank details to make the payment
- You can also deposit cash in your Virtual Account in any SCB branch which has been already created against your IELTS registration number
You need to apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date.
Your result will normally be available in 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of sections requested for remark. If you have not received a response after 28 days, please contact info@britishcouncil.org.pk or 0800-22000
Want to re-take your IELTS test?
There are no restrictions on re-taking IELTS. You can book a test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so.
Please note that your score is unlikely to increase unless you make a significant effort to improve your English before re-taking the test. Visit the preparation section to take a practice test and assess your level.
