HSBC Bank Middle East Limited approached the British Council to develop a project together to help primary school children across 13 countries including Pakistan to develop good reading habits through access to storytelling.

Kids Read aims to promote reading skills among young learners, aged 6 to 11, through interactive fun activities.

A specialist group of UK trainers were selected with strong knowledge on reading skills storytelling and academia background to deliver storytelling sessions to pupils, teachers and parents in public and private schools across Pakistan.

We developed teachers’ skills and awareness in storytelling through teacher training workshops by careful deliberations to ensure this gets complete impact for teachers.

KidsRead has provided an opportunity for pupils to develop their reading, listening, writing and communication skills overall.

This activity took place in 20 schools across Pakistan so far. Through stories the kids are introduced to the rich, colourful and exciting world of children’s literature.
