You can find magic wherever you look – sit back and relax, all you need is a book! – Dr. Seuss 

Say goodbye to boredom and get ready for an exciting reading adventure! This year's Summer Read-a-thon for children is all about discovering new stories, exploring different worlds, and enjoying the joy of reading!

1. Register for the reading challenge through the links mentioned below.

Participation fee per child: For members PKR 1,000   and for non-members PKR.1200

2. Join the kick-off event to collect your reading pack - invitations for this will be sent to parents over email 

3. Select books from the library collection to start your magical reading adventure 

This programme is for ages 5 to 15

Reading challenge rules: 

  • Children can read titles from our recommended reading lists or pick out books of their choice from the library’s collection to participate in the challenge 
  • All books must be part of the library collection and library staff will help you identify appropriate books for the read-a-thon 
  • The challenge is to read 6 books in 4 weeks and completing the relevant activities
  • Record your child's reading journey and collect stars from the library to mark their progress on our reading track sheets 
  • Children must submit the following to complete the challenge:

·  Write book reviews of all 6 books

·  Create and write an alternative ending for a book of their choice

·  Draw scenes from the book of their choice to show important events or characters. The drawings will be displayed in the library

·  Create a comic strip version of their most favourite book from the challenge

·   A British Council certificate will be awarded to children who manage to read 6  books and complete all relevant activities before the deadline

·       Orientation session: 19 June 2025

·       Challenge Duration: 19 June till 19 July 2025

·       Engagement activity for the children:  To be communicated to registered participants

·       Submission Deadline for Review Sheets: 17 July 2025

·       Closing Ceremony at British Council: 19 July 2025

Please note that you will have to register for and pay separately for each participating child.If you are a member but the child isn't, then please register through the non-member link.
