This workshop will give participants a chance to hear up close and personal from two women who have achieved success in the field of music and fine arts respectively, in Pakistan as well as abroad. They will discuss the long and winding process of developing one’s creative talents, training rigorously, finding mentors and agents, negotiating commercial deals, and dealing with critics. Young girls and women who aspire towards careers in the arts will especially benefit from this guidance.

Tina Sani

Tina Sani's career in music spans more than three decades and she is considered one of the leading ghazal singers in Pakistan today. Her performances are considered emotively rich, full of vocal nuance and lyrical feeling. She has received numerous prestigious awards including Pakistan's highest civil award, the 'President's Pride of Performance' in 2004 and the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' award from the President of India, Smt Pratibha Patil in 2011.
