An employer, university, or other organisation may require official confirmation of your examination results before offering you employment, admission or other opportunities.
British Council verification service is provided for individuals who are UK educational qualification holders. British Council will verify all education, training, and professional awards, including certificates, degrees, and diplomas, at all levels issued by any accredited UK institution or organization. It will not verify any of the following documents:
• Passports/ID Cards/Smartcards
• IELTS Test Report Forms
• Certified Photocopies
• Testimonials
• Marriage certificates
• Any other documents required by the educational institution or employer.
Document verification is the process of confirming that an original qualification document is genuine and was issued by the relevant awarding body.
As part of the verification process:
· Verification: We contact the relevant awarding bodies to confirm the authenticity of your qualification documents.
· Verified copies: Once verification is completed, you may receive up to four verified (stamped and signed) photocopies of each document.
· Legalisation requirements: If you require verification for legalisation purposes, such as submission to the FCDO, please inform us at the time of application. In such cases, the original certificate must be stamped, as photocopies may not be accepted for legalisation.
