In celebration of World Photography Day on 19 August, we are hosting an exclusive photography competition for young adults. This year’s theme, "Emotion in Focus – Capturing the Moment," invites participants to embark on a powerful visual journey. We encourage you to submit original photographs that capture genuine human emotions, whether it’s joy, sorrow, surprise, contemplation, fear, or peace. The competition aims to showcase creativity through compelling and authentic emotional storytelling.

Competition details: 

  • The contest is open to all the young adults anywhere in Pakistan.
  • Registration is mandatory and must be completed before submitting your entry. You can register for free using the link provided below.
  • Each participant can submit only one photograph, accompanied by a brief note explaining its significance.
  • While submitting the photograph, participants must enclose the submission and consent form. 

Important dates: 

  • The deadline for submitting entries is 13 August 2025, 11:59 p.m. PST.
  • On 15 August 2025, all the photograph entries will be displayed at the British Council library.
  • Winners will be announced on 19 August, marking World Photography Day.

Terms and conditions:

  • Prior registration is mandatory. Please click the link above to register for free.
  • The photograph must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame or adding filters.
  • No obscenity will be accepted, and such submissions will be disqualified.
  • The contest is open for soft copy submissions only. No physical submissions will be entertained.
  • The photograph submitted by the participant ought to be devoid of any copyrighted images.
  • Entries will be judged by the British Council. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.
  • Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
  • The prize must be collected by the winner and is non-transferable.
  • The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If no response is received after three business days, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

Submission guidelines after registration: 

  • Only soft copy photographs will be accepted.
  • The photograph can be in colour(s), monochromatic, or black-and-white.
  • The photograph must be accompanied by the submission form and consent form. Entries without the requisite forms will be disqualified.
