In celebration of the British Council Libraries’ 10th Anniversary and the UK National Year of Reading 2026, we invite you to experience the library not just as a sanctuary of books, but as a space of living human connection. We are delighted to present Chaupal: Living Books, Shared Voices - an event that weaves the global Human Library concept into the warm, timeless tradition of the indigenous Chaupal (چوپال).
For one and a half hour, our space will transform into an open circle of dialogue and storytelling. Step into structured, 15-minute 1-on-1 sessions where every participant can listen and share stories. Share a cherished literary quote, a story or a memory from the past, a reflection on life, a quiet memory of third spaces, or a unique personal journey, and listen deeply to the lived experience of one another.
