In celebration of UN Volunteers Week, the British Council Karachi Library is launching a 1-month volunteer initiative titled Champs of the Council (CoC). This programme is designed to engage young volunteers in supporting library operations, programmes, and community engagement activities. 

This opportunity is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in event support, community engagement, and promoting a culture of reading. 

Programme Duration: 1 Month 
Working Hours: 18 hours per week 
Location: British Council Karachi Library 
Timings: As per assigned slots (Final timings will be communicated upon selection) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support events, workshops, reading sessions, and speaker programmes  
  • Assist in participant registration, coordination, and feedback collection (pre & post survey) 
  • Support creation of simple promotional content and documentation of activities (learning creative skills, content creation and brand persona) 
  • Assist in daily library operations and visitor facilitation. 
  • Support outreach and community engagement activities   

Learning Opportunity 

  • Practical learning experience in operations  
  • Exposure to community engagement and youth programming. 
  • Certificate upon successful completion of the programme.  

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Students aged 17–22 
  • Currently enrolled university/college students  
  • Interest in community engagement, support in programs, social media & visitor facilitation 
  • Prior volunteer experience is an advantage but not mandatory
