The British Council is a world authority in English language teaching and teacher training. We have developed a number of English teacher training courses for the teaching community globally. All of these courses focus on the latest requirements of the 21st century and on the changing scenario of the education world.

British Council Pakistan is delighted to announce our Certificate in Primary English Language Teaching (CiPELT-Steady) course.  

COURSE OVERVIEW

Certificate in Primary English Language Teaching (CiPELT – Steady) is an internationally recognised British Council teacher education course aimed at developing primary school teachers. It is designed for teachers of Grade 3 and 4, that is primary years 3 and 4.

The aim of CiPELT-Steady course is to apply teaching methodology and resource development for young learners of English who are not beginners but are between the ages of 8 and 10. 

  • The module covers how children develop cognitively and with their language
  • It looks at how to plan, manage and assess the progress of classes
  • Early literacy and developing reading skills are covered at word level
  • The focus is on consolidating listening and speaking skills while beginning to develop literacy skills. 

Course fee: PKR 34,500/- per teacher 

DISCOUNT PACKAGES 

British Council will offer discounts: 

  • 5% discount per participant for 4 – 6 nominations from one organisation
  • 10% discount per participant for 7 – 10 nominations from one organisation 

* Please note that an individual, school or institute can only avail one of these discount packages at one time.

TRAINER'S PROFILE

Mr Charles Schulze is a highly experienced Teacher Trainer and Educational Consultant. His academic background includes studies towards two Master’s degrees at the University of Cambridge (in Management and Education respectively), as well as a degree in International Politics from the University of California.  An experienced linguist, TEFL/TESOL specialist, and teacher trainer, he has trained Ministry Officials in Assessment for Learning on the behalf of the British Council, as well as working on a range of British Council assignments in South Asia. He has authored numerous guides and training materials for teaching staff and ministry officials, several of which have focused on Assessment for Learning. He is a Senior Consultant at Carfax Educational Projects, part of the Carfax Education Group.

Limited seats are available. Nominations will be entertained on first-come-first-served basis. Interested candidates should fill in the attached application form and send to Saira Qadri, British Council, British Deputy High Commission, Shahrah e Iran, Block 5, Clifton, Karachi along with the pay order or demand draft no later than Saturday 30 April 2016.

Interested institutes should send in filled institutional nomination form on their letterhead along with the individual application forms for all candidates no later than Sautrday 30 April 2016
