Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls - Bachelor’s 2024
The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls funds graduate studies for Pakistani women in any HEC recognized university across Pakistan. Funded by the Scottish Government, these grants aim to make higher education more accessible to women, supporting them in achieving their potential and ambition.
Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls is being offered at undergraduate level for a four-year’s bachelor’s degree as well.
British Council will administer the scheme in Pakistan and coordinate with selected scholars and universities either directly or through nominated university focal persons.
The Award
Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls Scheme will facilitate award-holders with the following:

The scholarship will cover a four-year bachelor’s degree at an HEC-recognised Pakistani public university in one of the following subject areas only:

The Scotland Pakistan Scholarship for Young Women and Girls Program funds graduate studies for Pakistani women in any HEC recognized university across Pakistan. Funded by the Scottish Government, these grants aim to make higher education more accessible to women, supporting them in achieving their potential and ambition.
The Pakistan Scottish Scholarship Scheme Scotland Pakistan Scholarship for Young Women and Girls Master’s levels funds a maximum two-year master’s/MPhil degree for Pakistani women in any HEC recognized university across Pakistan.
British Council will administer the scheme in Pakistan and coordinate with selected scholars and universities either directly or through nominated university focal persons.

As part of the UK’s ongoing commitment to the Commonwealth, each year around 700 students are given the chance to undertake postgraduate degrees with UK universities.
If you are from a Commonwealth country and believe you could make a difference to the world but you can’t afford to fund your UK studies on your own, then you could be the ideal candidate for a Commonwealth Scholarship.
Commonwealth Scholarships are aimed at students from across the Commonwealth who would not otherwise be able to afford to study in the UK. By funding postgraduate studies in a range of different study formats, the scheme helps to support future innovators and leaders.
This historic award is the UK’s primary scholarship scheme focused on contributing to the UK’s international development aims. It is designed to attract outstanding talent to UK universities whilst supporting sustainable development overseas.
To apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of a Commonwealth country. You will still be eligible if you are a refugee or British protected person.
You need to have an undergraduate honours degree of at least upper second class (2:1). If you wish to study a PhD, you will need an appropriate master’s degree too.
Finally, you must be unable to afford to study in the UK without the scholarship.

The Charles Wallace Visiting Fellowship Programme, managed by the British Council in Pakistan, enables mid-career professionals across a broad range of disciplines to undertake short visits to the United Kingdom to broaden their professional knowledge, skills, and contacts. Its two principle purposes are:
The fellowship may take the form of an attachment to a university department, professional institution, or arts organisation.
Duration
A fellowship may last for two weeks and a maximum of two months.
Eligibility of applicants
Applicants who have studied in the UK/US/Canada/Australia/Europe/China in the last 5 years are not eligible to apply, nor are previous beneficiaries of Charles Wallace awards.

After retaining a copy of your completed application form, email it to cwpt@britishcouncil.org.pk by Friday, 14 June 2024, together with your Letter of Invitation and your CV, including a photograph of yourself.
Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview, either in person or on-line, in July 2024, and successful candidates will be able to take up their awards from September 2024 onwards.
Please note that neither the British Council nor the Charles Wallace Trust will be able to help applicants to secure invitations from UK institutions. All applicants are expected to make contact with prospective UK host organisations on their own behalf.

The British Council has been supporting the Government of the Punjab since 2014 in capacity development of its college faculty through the Chief Minister’s Faculty Development Programme. The scholarship focuses on enhancing professional knowledge and skills of college faculty by providing them an opportunity to study in the UK through this scholarship programme. Since 2014, six faculty members from the Punjab have completed their Master’s degree from the UK and 6 others are in the process of completing it.
