Achieving Impact Through Collaboration

The British Council in Pakistan in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has been supporting the achievement of higher education road map for over a decade. Enhancing access, improving quality and institutional capacity of the sector have been the primary objectives of our joint programmes. Over the years, 150 UK and Pakistan university links have been jointly funded and implemented resulting in increased growth of international partnerships in research, faculty development and institutional partnerships. Our approach is to promote ‘policy learning’, in which both UK and Pakistan stakeholders co-develop solutions suited to Pakistan’s context.

The UK-Pakistan Partnership event will reflect on our previous and existing collaborative work with the HEC with the aim of building on lessons learned from them for future joint ventures.

The aim of the partner’s event is to:

  1. Bring together university partners from the UK and Pakistan to participate in discussions that would exhibit best practices and lessons learnt. The purpose is to showcase the impact of jointly funded partnerships by Higher Education Commission and the British Council.
  2. Create a network of higher education institutions between UK and Pakistan for future projects around gender, split side PhD, STEM, education for emergencies and disability.
  3. Promote international strategic transnational education partnerships between both countries.
  4. Help in the development of a workable framework for international collaborations between the UK and Pakistan.
